Q: "So... I don't get it, what’s the CRANE thing all about?”
A: I’m glad you asked that question. Well, I’m in a Fraternity and one tradition we have is giving new members what we like to call: Animal Names! One receives their Animal Name from one’s big brother in the Fraternity. The Animal Name Ceremony is preformed about one to two weeks after the Initiation, because one MUST be a brother before one can have an Animal Name. The Animal Name that my big brother gave me is: Cinema-Viewing, Green Glass Sipping, Giant Crane. A story can accompany each section of the name. Cinema-Viewing: because I like going to movies, I like renting them, I like critiquing them, and I like answering movie trivia. Green Glass Sipping: That part of the name I got because during my first semester in college, I would only drink from a tall green glass, (which, by the way was plastic). Maybe I’m just stubborn, but I liked that cup. It was tall enough to hold two beers. And it was always conveniently around, because no one else used it. I’ve never even bought that cup, to this day I have no idea who the true owner is. {With all that said, finally, the moment we all been waiting for…} Giant Crane: My Big Brother chose to use a CRANE as my animal, because Cranes are large birds, and one may state that I could be considered a large person. Cranes stand on one foot. I sometimes wobble back and forth when I stand. Cranes tilt their heads, and so do I when I get confused; which is… um… often.
