at age 23, I am guessing that you are almost done with your studies in graphic design?

Well, I've been a graphic designer in two different ways: freelance and as an employee. I loved the independence of freelancing, but financially it is hard because your income is unreliable and you really have many bosses (each client). But you set your own hours and work as you see fit, just as long as you have enough discipline to work and not starve. ;) As an employee, the hours were rough, the pay was dependable but the variety of what you did was more limited. Either way, I enjoyed the work of graphic design, but I decided to return to an earlier career as a journalist and it has been more personally meaningful to me.
