One glorious autumn day, my family and I went to the Fall Festival in Castro Valley. I won a hermit crab by playing that ping-pong ball game. "Yay!," I thought, "At least I don't have to take it home in a bag of water like John did." Yeah, my good old neighbor John won a fish that day, but he dropped it on the pavement accidently. The poor little critter drowned to death. Anyway, I won this little crab along with a decent plastic cage complete with a mini lawn chair and a dyed pebbles. I named my new pet Crab Cakes. Well, everything was peachy until that fateful day when old crabby Crab Cakes pinched me with his fat purple claw. Without thinking I flung Crabby like a fastball and he hit the wall with a splatter. His shell broke and I watched him shrivel up and die. I felt awful. Really, I did. I love animals, but I accidently killed him out of surprise. Oh well, everyone dies. So I gave him a dignified toilet burial and watched the little morsel go down the vortex and off into the depths of the sewer. The End
