Once upon a time, there lived a 54 year old woman who, sadly,
had a heart attack and was taken*
*to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near
death experience. Seeing God she asked 'Is my time up?'*

* God said, 'No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8
days to*
*live.'*

* Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and
have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy
tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color
and brighten her teeth!*


* Since she had so much more time=2 0to live, she figured she
might as well make the most of it. After her last operation,
she was released from the hospital.*

* While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by
an ambulance. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, 'I
thought you said I had another 43 years? Why didn't you pull me
from out of the path of the ambulance?'*

When your hut's on fire…

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for someone to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, 'How could this happen to me?'

Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! 'How did you know I was here?' asked the weary man of his rescuers.

'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied.

The Moral of This Story:

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart even in the midst of our pain and suffering. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground, it just may be a smoke signal that precedes your rescue.
