Let's see....new to this. I used to run half marathons and was getting a bit better each run. Not great....yeah... really just average. Anyways became ill and had to quit running for over a year and during that time there was this race in Arizona. Rock and Roll, Arizona. A huge group were going, so decided to go along to give moral support. But WOW...I have never been to Phoenix and the race, people, music was just awesome. So stupid me...while standing around waiting for others to pick up their race packages, I thought what the hell....worst case scenario is I end up walking it. So with no running for over a year, I signed up and took off on the route the next day. It was fabulous. The music ..I kept stopping and rocking too, every mile!!!! The cheer leaders and fans. But most of all the runners; they were fabulous and when I was loosing juice in the last 3 kms. there was this sweet man who said..." don't give up you can do it" So while trying to run with him I explained that I hadn't run in a year and that I just couldn't resist the race. He laughed, took my hand and said, Well then you MUST finish." So we finished together. This is my happy story. Who ever you were Thank You...you made my trip!
