This poem was written for a fallen comrade.
A Knight’s Memory
Across the lands words did fly,
many tongues, with knowledge cry,
Ogre, fae and rare human host,
dark tidings with, cruel bans to post,
Ride forth now spur to flank,
row on row, rank on rank,
Dark knights so chill and tall,
rode forth with, resounding call,
Trumpets blare and drums did beat,
armour gleams, in the fire's heat,
Ride forth now spur to flank,
row on row, rank on rank,
Sorrow, pain in each breast surge,
as chanting carries, a knightly dirge,
Sword tips rise and pierce the sky,
honour shown, for one so high,
Ride forth now spur to flank,
row on row, rank on rank,
As ash and ember twirl and dart,
a soul to rise, this world depart,
But sparks do fade and legends go,
so to the gathered, heads bowed low,
Ride forth now spur to flank,
row on row, rank on rank.
