Do you ever wonder how people can just ignore other people who are in need of help ?
Either because they are too lazy or too scared to get off there arses & actualy help another person !
Well the other day I was on the bus on my way home from work & an elderly chap got on a stop or two after me, he got off the bus just outside of Royton but before he got off the bus driver was talking to him.
So I took my headphones off the see what was wrong anyway to cut a long story short the old chap didnt seem to know where he was going or where he had come from ?
The bus driver was just going to leave him sat on his own on a wall outside a old folks home that the old guy wasnt from.
I asked the driver was he just going to leave him sat there on his own & he answered "yes there is nothing I can do !"
All the other people on the bus were full of ideas as to what to do with the old guy but no one was prepared to actualy get up & do it !
So I got off the bus to help him & off whent the bus & ALL the people who couldnt care less about this poor old chap.
There were some workers from the old folks home near the bus stop who were outside the back of the biulding. So I shouted over the wall & told them what was going on & asked if they could take him in & help as I had no credit in my phone & didnt know what to do with him, but I knew I couldnt just leave him there on his own.
They told me to bring him round the front & they would help, on the way round to the front on the biulding, I asked him his name he said he was called "Tom Bobkin"he was a lovely guy & he had such a lovely happy smile even though he must have been scared !
I finealy got him to the front of the old folks home as he was walikng realy slow & two workers came out to help.
They said he wasnt one of there's but thought they knew where he may be from, so the took him inside & gave him a cup of tea.
The poor old guy may have just been sat there totaly lost not knowing where he was or where to go if I hadnt have got off to help him.
I rang the home later & they said he was from another home But he used to live in a bungalow near where he got of the bus & may have been trying to get back there ?
I felt so good on my way home after that as I had helped him (even though I now had to walk another 8 or 10 bus stops further to get home lol)
So if you see an old person or anyone else is in need of a helping hand just think on when other's dont want to know, just think that could be your Grandad or your Dad & do something about yourself & help them if they need it !
