If you have something to say, just say it. Why do you pain not just yourself but the others around you? If I know what you see, and see how you feel than put all of the things that hold you down into words and erupt them from your veins like raged volcanoes. These things that drag you down tow all of the things that you once appreciated behind you. If you sink to the bottom of the ocean then I will drown. If you fly through the sky then I will skim through the clouds. If you slip then I will grab the rope that pulled me behind you, and keep your head above the water that attempts to pull you into your black depths. The things you hide from yourself are the things that I will find and destroy. And the things that you show I can hold on a pride that is unbreakable. Could you tell me what is really inside, or would you hold your silence as the water fills your lungs, just to disguise your scars. This rope has slipped out of my hands and I can no longer hold you above the things that eat at your soul. My hands are left raw and scared; it's up to you to swim to the surface. I was only left with two things, a scare on my hands, and a question, can you swim?

He calls, again tonight to tell me he loves me. When I don’t respond he asks if I believe him. I can’t be honest with him. I can’t tell him the truth. That would mean letting down my defenses and allowing him to see how much he meant to me. How I let him in just to hurt me. I can’t do that again. I have to protect myself. He still doesn’t know, but he nearly killed me inside. So I shrug it off and say “yeah yeah yeah.” Now he proceeds asking why I don’t keep in touch and say "hello?" I try not to gasp for breathe and say I’m busy- gotta go. *CLICK* It has to be this way. He can’t ever know. That I’m still drowning… still bleeding… still trapped by him.

I did not write this & know Christmas has past- but still must share this with each of you


A Soldier’s Silent Night
Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone,

In a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone.


I had come down the chimney with presents to give,
And just to see who in this home did live.

I looked all about, a strange sight I did see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.

No stocking by the mantel, just boots filled with sand,
On the wall hung pictures, of far distant lands.

With medals and badges, awards of all kinds,
A sober thought came through my mind.

For this house was different, it was dark and dreary.
I found the home of a soldier, once I could see clearly.

The soldier lay sleeping, silent, alone,
Curled up on the floor in this one bedroom home.

The face was so gentle, the room in such disorder,
Not how I pictured a United States soldier.

Was this the hero of whom I’d just read?
Curled up on a poncho, the floor for a bed?

I realized the families that I saw this night,
Owed their lives to these soldiers who were willing to fight.

Soon round the world, the children would play,
And grownups would celebrate a bright Christmas day.

They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
Because of the soldiers, like the one lying here.

I couldn’t help wonder how many lay alone,
On a cold Christmas eve in a land far from home.

The very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to me knees and started to cry;

The soldier awakened and I heard a rough voice,
“Santa don’t cry, this life is my choice;
I fight for freedom, I don’t ask for more,
My life is my god, my country, my corps.”

The soldier rolled over and drifted to sleep,
I couldn’t control it, I continued to weep.

I kept watch for hours, so silent and still,
And we both shivered from the cold night’s chill.

I didn’t want to leave on that cold, dark, night,
This guardian of honor so willing to fight.

Then the soldier rolled over, with a voice soft and pure,
Whispered, “Carry on Santa, it’s Christmas day, all is secure.”

One look at my watch, and I knew he was right.
“Merry Christmas my friend, may God bless you this night.”
