I have found myself thinking about rules recently and why all human beings do things in a certain way or act a certain way. Just because everyone else does it that way!! Society is behaviour modification at it's most powerful.
Why do we sit in silence on the London underground, just because everyone else is?
If you look on the road, you will see buses, quads, motorcycles, trucks. Why then do 95% of the poulation drive a car, just because everyone else does?
We are all different, you will never meet 2 identical individuals in your lifetime. So why does this happen? Some people just want to be accepted, so they follow what others do. Everyone wants to be accepted by someone and everyone is influenced (to some degree) by others too. Some people follow out of fear, others simply because they do not have the will to break away.
Every once in a while you will meet a truly individual person, a person not bound by what others expect. Some view these people as strange, others embrace them, some are fearful of that which is different. Most of the greatest people in human evolution have not stuck to the rules. They have pushed the envelope, done what people have said could not be done, or done what people say shouldn't be done.
If you can dispel this fear and the need to do what is expected then you will be more free than you have ever been in your life.
A thought to ponder......................
