'Blast' thought Sir Hugh and her watched Lady Christine dismount, closely followed by her dour Aunt Girtrude.. who had obviously been charged with remaining with Lady C during her short visit to Tweedsmuir Halls...

Sir Hugh had been stiff all morning in anticipation of Lady C's visit... however getting a new mattress would have to wait.. 'Hens teeth.. thats a fine looking Gal' mused Hugh, desperatley seeking to formulate a plan to get her to his bed chambers alone.. when all of a sudden .... *BANG*...

Aunt Girtrude's ornate tweed hunting hat exploded in a shower of pheasant feathers ... "Gotcha.. yer blighter!" bellowed the gamekeeper, who had a pathalogical hatred for anything even slightly resembling a game bird... Aunt Girtrude on the other hand, although unhurt, had passed out from the sheer shock of it all.. and during the frantic activity by all to revive the hatless relative.. Hugh siezed Lady C and they dashed inside un-noticed...

"Bingo" .. exclaimed Hugh bounding up the stairs, who had again stiffened up due to all the excertion...
