to enlighten another's distress
Cry with me, a single true tear,
to understand true happiness

Cherish with me, the wonders of life,
as they need to be preserved
Rejoice with me, in the mysteries,
of what is yet to be

Find peace with me, in each other's souls,
when the world has gone insane
Find love with me, in each other's hearts,
until this life has been fulfilled

And when the path comes to an end
I hope we can say from within
We've known the beauty of true love,

Bewitched

At moments glance, bewitched by she,
By beauty besotted and stunned by grace,
Helpless and blessed - in love was he,
When first his eyes did gaze her face.

A glimpse of heaven - his eyes perceived,
A breath - with shortness drawn,
His love at once to be received,
A path to each was quickly worn.

So rare in life, to us they come,
A spirit kind with loving care,
With memories deep to linger on,
For me... her soul I'll always share.

dark kitty ninja

Every night when darkness falls
an innocent kitten breaks cat law.
Balancing like an acrobat,
walks along an oak tree branch.
Hurry's over the roof with speed.
Then begins his robbing scheme.
Jumps from the roof with a silent fall,
hits the ground and jumps a wall.
Through the neighbor's fence and gate,
to their cats water and takes a drink.
Then another-then another-then,
SLURP!!!!!!
Finally the last bit is gone.
It is now time for the foods downfall.
Smells good to a cat. Like fish.
The cat dives for the food like a fruit bat that has just spotted an orchard.
CRUNCH!!!!!
The last survivors are destroyed.
Then as silently as he had come,
the thief is gone.
In the morning when I open the door.
The innocent kitten sits there like before.
Until the next night, my little friend.
Until the next night,
when the dark kitty ninja strikes again.

i hate hangovers so i wrote about mine

Hangover Cycle

He awoke in the dawn from a wild night
That railed upon him like poring rain
But he craved it as a tonsillectomy does ice cream
To sooth that raw and stripped out feeling

With head pounding and dryness felt like a Death Valley gulch
He scrambled to his feet in search of aspirin
Finding the bottle he removed the lid with clenched teeth
And downed a deuce with a half emptied Aspen Pure

He fell back in his bed and hid himself under the blanket
Like a bad year for Punxsutawney when Phil loathes his shadow
He tried to sleep but even his eyebrows cracked with pain to keep him awake
By midday he would muster his strength

For the evening would bring another wild night

Dying... Oh so slow

For death will come to each,
And the brave will care not so,
For I do not dread my death,
It’s just the dying... oh, so slow.

For each man must face his demons,
Look the devil in the eye,
Recall the mistakes that made him,
Then surrender and say goodbye.

But how can we define the sum of us,
After a life of sixty years,
Is it the love received or given away,
Or the conquering of all our fears.

No! Life for me meant loving,
To escape in your sweet embrace,
To feel again your loving touch,
And to see your stunning face.

With you... life moved too quickly,
For we had no time to grow,
So I’ll ask God for one last wish…
And that’s to die... Oh, so slow.
