Hi I'm Nilko. I started out as a regular brown mouse. With a mom, dad, lots of brothers and sisters. One brother is deceased because while being chased by a cat he had a heart attack. Another brother left one day to get cheese and never reuturned. I miss them both. I have gone through many trials and challenges. I almost lost my head to some cheese until my friend the Robin stopped me. Thank you Robin! Another time I almost got electricuted. It was a stupid dare by my friend Goldy. He thought since he can't have a life except in a fish bowl he'd make mine more exciting. Thank God he's dating Angel and is no longer bored. Though he is still in that fish bowl. I saved him once. The owners had decided to go and get another fish so he wouldn't be lonely. Not Angel but a different one. Goldy was so excited he cleaned his bowl as best he could. When finally the day came for her to move in, I could tell right away there would be trouble. He tried to tell me I was over reacting and he wished we would get along. I never could though she was a neon fish named Neona. I thought everyone knew neon fish were just out for attention but Goldy didn't. He later maried her thinking that would get him at the top of her list. Of couse it failed miserably. Goldy was so sad I found him floating at the top of his bowl. I reached in and gave him CPR till he was breathing again. We have been unseperable ever since. I like his new girl Angel. She does get down on herself sometimes like when she swam face first into the bowl but, she is kind and in my opinion more beautiful then Neona will ever be. Anyway you are probably wondering why I turned blue? Was I depressed and never got happy, was it some type of poision, or was it another dare from Goldy. Actually, it was none of these. I turned blue cause I kept sneaking in the blue cheese under my parents nose. They had told me since I was a young mousette that I needed to watch how much cheese I eat. Now I know why. The first time I began turning blue I tried to hide it. I kept around the blue berries and only blue colored objects. Soon though I got caught. My parents were so shocked and angry that I heard the ranting for what seemed like years. I thought they were so loud the humans would hear. But, they didn't. At first everyone teased me, "Hey Nilko, trying to be a blue bird?", "It's ok Nilko, you don't have to feel so blue?'" I heard it all. Even the ugly duckling teased me. But as all things do with time, the teasing became less and less. I finally earned the respect of others when our family and friends were chased out of our home by an exterminator. There the human was trying to annihilate us when I came out and caught his attention. He like you had never seen a blue mouse and was in shock. He began chasing me which gave everyone plenty enough time to escape. I have been a hero ever since. Though I myself just consider myself unique.
