HK-series: Job~ industry

Since Hong Kong is at the shoreline and consists of lots of islands, most people worked as fishers and or farmers in the beginning (as I know it). Besides islands and beaches, the more inland areas consists numerous of mountains. As a result, a number of farmers cultivates along the slope. Last but not least, its location beside water makes it a perfect place for trade businesses, and or as a middle stop for shipping.

About 110 years ago, the British took Hong Kong from China as a colony. Hong Kong island was given to the British, but the other two parts of Hong Kong were later “lended” to the British... Anyways, China later closes itself, and other terrible things happen which you can all find out from more reliable sources. Consequently, lots of people were fleeing to neighbouring areas, including Hong Kong, since it is geographically connected to mainland China.

Anyways, so making Hong Kong a colony and such, opens up more doors for trades. Hong Kong went through the phase of industrialization, when women used to bring all those crafts stuff home and all the kids would help out and grew up hating plastic flowers. As time passes by, more and more manufacturers moved north, that is, mainland China for cheaper expenses. Also, Hong Kong was known for its International Finance Centre. That may give you an idea about the abundance of business in Hong Kong. However, Hong Kong is also a very small place flooded with people. What I noticed is that, other than trades relevant to basic needs and essential professionals, the society leaves little room for other areas. As a result most people work in the office.

Office life is so unhealthy.

If there is a link between the job, and the environment.... versus their terrible habit of gossiping. I think office is a terrible working environment for the majority of a population.
But oh well, most people would consider it lucky that you don't have to sweat and bleed to earn a living.
Besides, this is only what I saw and heard, and I could be terribly ignorant. Considering the fact that I never paid close attention to news, and I've left for a good 6.5 years.
But I mean, why do you need to listen to news, when people around you are going to repeat them anyways? Xd

my pets [this shall be a forever to be continue... thread]

1st The Man and Boy of ..... mine, basically. We talked, slowly and progressively... until one day someone stole him! I was striked, especially that's when dessert was stolen for a couple times. To my surprise, he bought and gave himself back to me, who was almost in tears. What a shock! and for that sweet gesture, you deserve this title forever!
P.S. this boy is planning to join the army, whhooo~!

2ndly, dessert.
this absentminded creature torn my heart by asking his friend to buy himself from me, but he made it up as soon as he realized the mistake. Rising from desert to dessert, he surely sweet talks to me the most often among my pets.

K and I was fighting over a pet, which neither of us can remember anymore, probably a hot girl. If we were not fighting, i thought he might be cool for a conversation or two. So one day i stumbled onto his page again (or maybe he petted me) and found that he's been largely neglected, and took him in. =D
if winter is your active season, we'll see what fun can begin as my exam ends tmr!

girl, first girl, that i remember in a long time, or bitch, cuz she took former monkey twice, or more.
I am not used to anger, and definitely not hatred.
so, be it sun shine bitch, or sun shine girl, it's all up to you.
then, maybe the man doesn't have to be that grey.

last but not least, 曦? he's my dear net friend that uses FB to advertising his website. He's an author. I don't he actually uses HP. But, welcome to check out his site if you know chinese, unless you are interested in his english poems and rambles... which you can't really understand anyways, unless you get the scene.

HIGHlights

Trick-or-Eat (a meal-exchange program for you to collect for the food bank on Halloween)
~an awesome Joker that stayed in character, gotta <3 Sandy M.!
~an awesome Gryphon with a costume a lot more detail than our school one, I ran after it(?) for half a minute just to get a closer look---men, the feathers, the tail, the moving beck---I think our school should order one from him/her! (note: Gryphon is like our school/sport symbol, a mythological creature)
-Kyle's whitish contact lens does make him look undead @@
-Anne and Alica's hats look cool on them =D

So there is this guy in my class that is willing to let me walk/play with his dog, someday, so I asked him to leave his FB, but I guess FB isn't really his thing so he left me his number and email... What I really wanna know is, the name of the girl that sits beside him, cuz she looks gorgeous! (But... I might have creeped her out a bit, she looks at me weird once or twice I think. = =)
last night, it just so happened that that guy sat behind me (he came to class late, and drunk?), and he yelled across the row to call her "R-----" ~! ^^

now that I think about it, I should add the two girls I knew from apple...

Luna, the cat from Sailor Moon, who guided her in her journey of saving the Earth, as a will of her dead moon kingdom.

Luna once became a girl in a movie and she looked absolutely beautiful.

She's got all the softness you'd find in a gentle kitty.

The blond guy is supposed to be her lover in the movie I guess(I never watched it), but the white hair dude is probably the personified version of her husband, Sailor Venus' white cat. No I don't remember him being a human anywhere, it's probably just fan's art. (It's a really good picture though) And yes she's got a purple cute daughter called Diana too. (random fact)

For dessert and others who have trouble sleeping:

How to improve the quality of your sleep (from my psy text book)

1. sleeping schedule
-stick to your schedule, don't try to sleep lots on weekends to make up for the week. In fact, you simply CAN'T make it up.
-avoid napping, especially evening ones.

2. Relax
-avoid exercise
-avoid sleeping pills and alcohol, they actually disrupt sleep.
-avoid stimulating food, that includes tobacco, coffee, coke and chocolates.
-actually, just avoid food in general, have a light dairy snack if you have to.

3. Learn
-condition yourself to only sleep in your bedroom (/on your bed), that means don't do anything other than sleeping on your bed(/in your bedroom). If you can't fall asleep, get out and do something else before coming back to have another try. That way you are "conditioning" your body to sleep when surrounding by your bed(/bedroom) environment.

That's all I can remember.. Sweet dreams tonight!
