So:
when I was changing the oil for my 1979 Ford Econoline 250 I was observing things under the car while laying under the front of it and I saw a bar going to the transmission and I thought it might be this turbo lever that I need to rig into function on the new carburetor because the plate doesn't have the little metal bit that's supposed to kick the turbo lever or whatever,
anyway,
I gave the bar I was looking at a tug and there was a loud click and the van immediately started rolling away from me down a very slight incline towards a moderately busy road that people go flying down pretty frequently,
anyway,
I see the van rolling away from me above me and I see a perfectly round bar rolling past me so I grab it and start trying to dig my back into the gravel driveway to slow down the cargo van so it doesn't roll into the road...
This continues for like 10 ft at approximately 3 mph...
It seems to be starting to slow down as the driveway is flattening out so as I'm still clutching the bar I reach up and around to the top of the bumper and slide on my knee and get up well I'm still being pulled by the van and proceed to start sprinting and hop in the driver door which was open and slam the e-brake pedal down forgetting that a it's a piece of shit and doesn't really do anything and b the e-brake release was open.
Anyway,
that did nothing to slow it down so I promptly slammed on the break coming to a whole and the driver passenger door slams closed.
Damage report: about a 3x5 patch of road rash with very slight trenching behind my right shoulder, pretty much on top of the blade.
Word of the wise: If you're ever going under a car, regardless of your chimping with stuff, put on a good working e-brake &/ block the downhill tires...🐒
