passions momentarily sated we pause to reflect on how we arrived here and now neither of us first timer's to the romance arena with all it's diversions and pratfalls taking a moment to take out our heart felt memories for a closer examination heavily scared and deeply cut wounds now healed in varied ways and means time does give us perspective and a sense of clarity for fools and lovers both merely an honest statement as love makes fools of each of us in some way but it is these foolish steps that we take that put us on proper footing firm yes each healed scar an old friend on whom one relys to remind me of her if you know me at all you've heard of she who fully owned my heart foremost her number still on speed dial three years later just because it is important i realize now that any pain from our union was the result of my assumptions meaningless expectations where none should have ever been placed or set i know now the importance of acceptance of both my faults and my strengths two sides of the same coin that brings us to this meeting of hungry souls i make no promises about this lasting or even ending without lasting pain only that my past gives me a possible chance of giving another more than take and in the long run that turn on loves random wheel of chance will have to do
