Love's Claws

Softly as a gentle breeze,
Love crept into my heart,
But little did I know that
Love would tear it apart.

Love grew claws so suddenly,
That I did not see, and so
Without warning it tore my
Heart and left me be.

I was so stunned of this
Attack, I did not speak at first.
But when I did I knew at
Once, my fate was already
Reversed.

As soon as I finished my sentence,
You turned and walked away,
I knew then that you would care
Naught any of my dismay.

Our love was meant not to be,
But then one thought is left to guess
What ever would have happened
If ever there was an us?
