To those of you who are reading this: I implore you to work for change. Change the world, one person, one dollar, one march, or one line of code at a time. Our freedoms and our very way of life are under constant assault by the terrorists in power - in the congress, the white house, and the courts; the banks and the markets; and the media and entertainment industries. The entire human race is engaged in a constant struggle to maintain our freedom and our dignity, and it is a struggle that we are currently losing. Every day we surrender more of our rights. Every day we lose a little bit of freedom. Fight back, before it's too late.
"...But unlike so many other nations; unlike what so many in this nation want to see and desperately strive to force, the movement in this country for more than 100 years has ALWAYS been forward; has always been just slightly bigger and better than it was yesterday towards the simple idea that those other people that you see every day -- the background characters; the extras in the movie that is your life -- that THEY COUNT TOO. And that the only obligation you truly have in life is to try to do something -- SOMETHING -- for them. Even if you will never meet them. Even if you will never know them."

"Every day since I started to think, I've realized that I knew a little less than I thought I did the day before about why we are all here. But over time I have come to agree with the baseball player Jackie Robinson -- A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives. What other measure is there of each one of us? You will die, and I will die, and everyone you will see tomorrow will die, and so will their children and their descendants and we will be at best memories. And by what are all those who preceded us judged? Name anybody from history. Name anybody we all know or somebody only you know -- by what are they judged? The answer, stripped of the bells and whistles, is not wealth, nor fame nor beauty nor power but what impact did they have on the lives of others." - Keith Olbermann, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, 07/11/11 http://current.com/shows/countdown/videos/dont-cut-care-mr-president-pt-1 Evander Sinoue"Geekie Monkey :O"Frisky

So...I'm going to DC next weekend, and the weekend after, and the weekend after that to protest the tar sands oil pipeline. I'm going back to DC on Oct. 6th for the 10th anniversary of the war in Afghanistan. I'm going to NYC September 17th to occupy Wall St. I'm going to DC again Nov. 11-13th for the Amnesty regional conference, though there's also the DSA conference that weekend, also in DC. I'm hoping to be spending Sept. 1st supporting the Nurses United nat'l day of action. I'm going to Sen. Corman's office Sept. 2nd to lobby against the proposed voter ID bills. We're probably occupying the student union here in...just over a week to protest the federal budget. And I've still got weekly Amnesty and ACLU meetings to run, weekly YDS and Leftist Symposium meetings to attend, monthly Spark and Peace Center meetings, weekly tabling, weekly anti-war protests, leading this new progressive student coalition and newspaper...
Did I get everything? Probably not. Oh right, and classes. That too. Oh! And work! At least if my boss ever decides to start paying me again... Evander Sinoue"Geekie Monkey :O"Frisky

That HP casino is bullshit. I got a hand of 2 7s. So I split. First hand got dealt another 7. Hit again, got a 6, next hand got dealt another 7. hit again, another 7.
That's 5 7s. In one hand. What the fuck? And I think the dealer had one too.
And this wasn't after playing it for a long time. This was like my third hand. They're picking cards with a pseudo-random number generator instead of actually simulating a deck, and it's a REALLY shitty PRNG. Evander Sinoue"Geekie Monkey :O"Frisky

There are two kinds of computer scientists: Those who know their solution is terrible, but pray it will be fixed later; and those who know their solution is terrible, but no longer give a damn. Evander Sinoue"Geekie Monkey :O"Frisky
