Ok, this may be hard to write.
My best friend died a few years ago Sept 19th. He was a Yorkshire terrier dog named Fritz born 1989 and died 2006. I was his owner for 17 years and 3 months. He was the runt of the litter so he was extra small for a small breed of dog. We were a team and went everywhere together. His death was the hardest thing I've ever been through to date.
For those who don't know, contrary to small yappy dogs, a Yourkie is not yappy; in fact the only time they speak is when they are asked to, when they see another dog, cat, bird or squirrel and when someone comes to the door. They are not good around children either because of their smaller size they feel threatened from being poked and mauled as kids do with a dog of this size. And they are not a great defense in the way of an attack dog, but having said that, they are perfect as an early warning guard dog that will love and defend you to the death to the best of their ability as any guard dog will. What other guard dog can run through the house, jump into your lap, do a couple circles and curl up for a nap while you watch a movie then growl when he hears footsteps coming up the driveway. I've had a German Sheppard and friends that have dogs but nothing comes or came close to Fritz.
RIP my friend.
