If you're looking for a Tramp or Ally Cat, you've come to the wrong place. I am a wannabe AristoCat. I am the high maintenance show-cat whose allergies and syndromes rival her number of ribbons. I am a picky eater and hand-fed only. I want that shiny thing. I am the skittish one who hides away when new people are introduced, but if you manage to gain my trust and affection, I'll be constantly by your side. I am a lap-cat. I love head scratches. Sometimes I'll bite you if I want pettin's. My love for play equals my love for sleep. Just don't try to do one when I want the other. I really want that shiny thing. I come with my share of baggage, which I'll sometimes inspect and lay down in, but I'll be just as curious about yours. Why think out of the box when you can sleep in it. If you give me that shiny thing, it probably won't be that interesting any more. I'm a bit of a music snob. I love to write, though I usually fall asleep on the papers half-way through. *ZzzzZzz*

The Egyptian Mau is one of the oldest feline breeds, thought to be descended from the original cats of the Pharaohs. I have always been fascinated with Ancient Egypt, and can trace some of my lineage to there, so I found an immediate kinship with the Mau. They are a small breed with long hind legs, which makes them appear to stand on tip-toe. I have often been mistaken as tall in my photos, due to being proportionately long-legged, though in reality I am only 5'2". Because of my height, and often without realizing, I tend to stand on my tip-toes. Another physical quality of the Mau is their large green (or sometimes blue) eyes, often described as "concerned looking." My large, blue/green, emotive eyes have always been one of my most commented on features. Egyptian Mau come in several colors; silver, bronze, smoke, black and blue/pewter. I consider myself a Silver Mau, as the contrast of my pale skin and darker hair closely resembles their black on silver/white coat. One of the most interesting quirks of the Mau is their signature "tail-wiggle," where they move their hind legs up and down in a display of contentment or excitement. This is something which I've always done without really knowing why, and I often chided myself for it, believing it to be a canine trait. The Mau are also intelligent, and tend to stay away from overly loud, obnoxious people. When it comes to their owners though, they are one of the cuddliest and most devoted breeds, although it takes some time to gain their trust. Another trait which I feel strongly about is the ascribed "musical quality" to their voice. Singing has always been a passion of mine, and I plan on going to school to hone my skills, and perhaps make something of it. There are a few other correlations which tie me to this breed, and to felines in general, but I choose not to disclose those here. All things considered, I feel that I very much embody the traits of the Egyptian Mau, and in writing this summary have learned a bit more about myself.
