I AM A BITCH ARE YOU???

When I stand up for myself and my beleifs,
they call me a bitch.
When I stand up for those I love,
they call me a bitch.
When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts,
or do things my own way, they call me a bitch.

Being a bitch entails rasing my children to be
strong people who have a solid sense of personal
and social responsibility, who are not afraid to
stand up for what they believe in and who love and
respect themselves for the beautiful beings they are.

Being a bitch means that I am free to be the
wonderful creature that I am, with all my own
inticacies,contradictions, quirks and beauty.

Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my
heart. It means I live my life MY way. It means I won't
allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak up
against it, I am defined as a bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for myself
instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little
selfish.

I am proud to be a bitch!!! It means I have the courage
and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and
wont't become anyone else's idea of what they think I
"should" be.

I am outspoken, opinionated, and determined.
By gosh, I want what I want, and there is nothing
wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try
to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
YOU WON'T SUCCEED
And if that makes me a bitch, so be it.
I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.

My Paint Brush

I keep my paint brush with me Wherever I may go,
In case I need to cover up So the real me doesn't show.
I'm so afraid to show you me,
Afraid of what you'll do--that You might laugh or say mean things.
I'm afraid I might lose you.
I'd like to remove all my paint coats To show you the real, true me,
But I want you to try and understand, I need you to accept what you see.
So if you'll be patient and close your eyes,
I'll strip off all my coats real slow.
Please understand how much it hurts To let the real me show.
Now my coats are all stripped off. I feel naked, bare and cold,
And if you still love me with all that you see,
You are my friend, pure as gold.
I need to save my paint brush, though, And hold it in my hand,
I want to keep it handy In case somebody doesn't understand.
