My last year in highschool was....well quite adventureous to say the least. I had gotten kicked out from my mothers and in with a relative out of state. There were a few really good teachers in this school, but my favorite Class was Creative Writing.
The first real poem we were made to write (one of our first days) our teacher took us out to the football field and sat us on the bleachers. He told us to find something out in the surroundings and write about it. While everyone focused on eachother or the field I looked further. Beyond the field and over the street there was a beautiful fog that had veiled the trees from that morning. And this is what I wrote:
~Secrets of the Shadows~
-To Nature itself-
When shadows fall and night begins,
the fog comes out in rolling winds.
The mystic walls veil certain truths,
that none may see, the forbidden fruit.
Clouded by hate, anger or love,
careful to feel what comes from above.
Drips and drops fall upon pregnant earth,
full of potential, ready for rebirth.
The light Shines through, to reveal the future,
the story of the fog, has left but a whisper.
The ways of truth may be found in the dark,
forever be open, and feel from the heart.
