SPRING’s RETURN
By Matthias Urquhart
(Vancouver, BC)
Smile each day, and break away, From Winter’s icy hand.
Slow your pace and upturn your face, and gaze upon the land.
The spring unfolds upon the earth, sunlight, it grows each day
Up in the sky the Blue returns to chase the grey away.
Tis just our growing cycle, tis the same we feel each year.
And once again we learn the only thing to fear is fear.
A smile each day, can lead the way, to warmth throughout your life
The smiles can chase that cold away, and help disperse the strife.
Tis true they say, that what we sow, tis what will one day reap.
Tis ours to chose, which memories bloom, and if good ones are there to keep.
A smile begets another, and the cheer is easy found.
If we only try to stir it up, there’s a lot to go around.
Tis ours to choose how do we feel, to wear those smiles we show
You’ll see them spread across the earth, and colours of spring grow.
