"Sometimes you cross someone's path and they're unforgettable, literally.
It's in their way or something that they say, the energy that they invested
in a glance maybe, or the height of their laughter, some gesture they do or
their smile... I love those people and a few of those memories in my pocket.
On the left side the pocket's called heart. The ones in there I draw from alot,
on the right and lower down, gut level maybe, there are the ones that gave
a lesson but it was harsh. They only come to mind when I feel wary of someone
for no apparent reason, maybe it's a look in the eyes or their words, the tone
in their voice or a gesture. All in all it's the inner compass and I've got a damed
shiny one. That makes to invaluable shiny things that are mine. See how rich I am?"

The most important things in life aren't free.
They cost energy. Money isn't the kind I mean.
It takes a lot of energy to dare oneself,
alot to bridge gaps between strangers,
alot to trust that we won't get hurt again,
alot to be confident enough for those in
cushy thrones carrying blackberries and
spitting on the little guy when a leg up
is needed, alot of energy to laugh when
we know it will help a friend who needs
it and yet there's nothing funny about
the situation, alot to forgive, alot to
choose to love with a whole heart and
without terms, alot to take risks that
feel right according to our gut instincts...
But these are some of the only ways
to get rich without the man keeping you
down.
