Well, last night I had the opportunity to experiance one of our Thanksgiving traditions, Miles, Girly and I watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie. Much to the suprise of Mile's and I there was a second one right after the one we are used to watching. She said she had seen it before, but we never even heard of it. I guess that is what happens when you have a 6 year age difference between kids. Kinda of follows along the lines of previous conversations we have had (like 2 years ago when I asked "who is Dora?" Just started to get the hang of it and now Dora is uncool cuz someone is growing up :) I am just glad we are leaving the "Hannah Banana" phase, iCarley is much cooler (and my middle guy thinks she is easy to look at so at least we have one show we agree on!)
Now I am on to tradition #2 the making of the grocery list...this is the first time in 17 years that I haven't had Thanksgiving at my house the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this year I am doing it at my grandparents house so that we can take the food over to the nursing home my grandpa is at while recovering from hip replacement. Hopefully it will go ok being out of my own kitchen, thank God I have a great teammate to work with! In fact two years ago when Miles and I had our first Thanksgiving together my grandparents were laughing their butts off at him and I running around the kitchen like crazy but we pulled it off!
We will be having turkey, cranberries, greenbean casserole, corn bread, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato pie, a jello salad, and God only knows what else. I am looking forward to the stuffing the most. What "thing" makes the meal feel most like Thanksgiving for you?
