OK, so this is the silly season, with the silly questionnaires and stuff.
I read the other day some guy (a dog lover) being asked: If you die and can come back as any animal, which would it be?
His answer? "A dog".
Now of all the silly answers one can give, that is it!
If I come back as any animal, it would have to be a lion, tiger or Tyrannosaurus Rex or sumfink! Not a dog at all!!!
Why? Because a dog is loyal beyond the concept of being rational. Dogs get kicked for no good reason, neglected, abandoned etc. and they will always come back and repay it with an act of saying sorry, trying to make up or just trying to be friends. Elevating the most pathetic human being to the heights of all their affection and loyalty, for no apparently good reason. What's with that?
I love dogs precisely because they are inherently so good that it defies logic that they show loyalty where there is no apparent gain for them, no apparent reason to give it and no goodwill to repay it.
If I come back as a dog, may I have no logic or sense of fairness, because that is why we love dogs. They give and ask love and affection where it is not present or available.
We humans can learn from that, but because we're so "developed" and complicated, we ceased to appreciate the basics of interaction. Maybe emotionally, we humans just don't have the capacity which dog have. Who's the stronger species then? Who's the noble creature?
Go ask yourself.
