CHAPTER ONE

NAKED AND CONFUSED...



naked and confused

Bang! Consciousness hit him like a shotgun blast.There was no slow wake.There was no slight elev8ion to his eyes.Just the loud uninterupting sounds of the city.The horns of miscelaneous cars and trucks,the sounds of hundreds of thousands of footsteps,the constant chirping of the makers of those busy footsteps and the birds.
The smells so complex filling his lungs like sludge of a slowly decaying city.Pizza,car exaust,people,oh so many people,pheromones,fear,and so many others he could not name,but he did recognize the sweet smell of trees.The scents of aged cement and asphault was all too sicking mixed with the smog and rust that drifted in his nostrils.His stomach was empty,but he threw up anyway.The empty dry heaves that convulsed his body seem to be in synch with the city breathing.
As he was vomiting he couldnt help but realized he never threw up this way before.Where was his nose,why couldnt he see sharper.Everything was so blurry,as he finished lurching and rolled on his back again the way he awoke so explosively.He tried to rub his eyes clear,but realized something was horribly wrong with his hands.He finished rubbing his eyes,and cringed at what he saw in his clear perfect vision.He had long slender arms and hands with narrow fingers and thumbs,with slight hair covering.He poked himself in the eyes trying to wipe his tears away.He never had thumbs before,and didnt know what to do.He felt his flattened smoother face with his newly bore hands,and collapsed into a ball.An unfamiliar ball.His legs felt strangely bent,and uncomfortable.
"What is this?",he thought to himself in a tone mixed of screaming and crying.
"What happened to me?"
"How did I get here?"
"Where am I?"
"Who has done this to me?"
As tears fall down his face,he tried to maneuver his limbs and gain balance to stand,and it felt all too wrong.His legs felt shorter and longer at the same time,and tried taking a few steps toward running water that he could hear and smell in the near distance.He felt all wrong like this body wasnt his,and he wondered where his tail had went.Everything was uneven till he wobbled to a tree to catch himself from falling.His limbs walked up the tree till he gained balance on his hind legs,and wondered why it felt comforting to stand this way.His feet were longer and his legs only bent once.
"What happened to my body?"
"Where is my pack?"

And I begin to wonder whos the game
